16 Days after #topsurgery – Emotional & physical progress #transgenderhealthcareSouthAfrica

16 Days since top surgery (time flies!)

Second post-op consult and hopefully drains coming out – will be HUGE relief. Worst part of this whole process.
Still in VERY minimal pain. Only take Panado (paracetemol) when I feel a twinge – normally once a day. Also great mobility.
Complete anomaly. No nips probably helped that.
But mental health (anxiety, hypomania, inability to rest despite horse benzos) kicking my ass. Didn’t sleep at all last night.
And while elated, also coming to terms with extreme (according to me but not others with exact same surgery) puckering above incisions.
But reaching out to the Instagram network of #teamnonipples has helped me realise everything is as it should be and will share results (comparison between this and last week soon).
Interesting, and yet expected and obvious that two years’ worth of research and readiness doesn’t prepare you… Brain knowing vs. Heart knowing. And the brain:heart disconnection strong with this one is.
But soul-glittering happiness too.
Will write further about

  • the support of “virtual” support vs. “real life” support soon,
  • as well as why I, as a documenter of everything couldn’t share post-op results.
  • Oh, and about, as expected, how my feminine side has exploded in full force since reclaiming my masculine body from doctors who coercively assigned me female at birth (CAFAB). ๐ŸŒป๐Ÿฆ„๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ•‰๐Ÿ’…๐Ÿผ
